The last week before Half term Class 5 – nearly there! You have worked extremely hard and deserve a rest but we have a busy week before us first.
Your teams have started to plan and design your invention that will ensure an enhanced New Zealand Experience this week. You now only have 3 weeks to complete your prototype and create a delicious New Zealand dish for the judges too.
We have a grammar week in Literacy, you have remembered many rules so far, a few more to go and you will be experts. We will be continuing our guitar tuition, High 5 netball skills, becoming adept at calculating the probability of challenges in maths (Thinking Things Through) and organising our groups to create a professional pitch to travel agents for our theme competition.
Well done in scoring as many goals as you could to raise money for NSPCC goal challenge during your outdoor P.E. session last week - very impressive.

  1. I have just read the book The Time Travelling Cat and The Egyptian Godess and the book was okay the author could of used better words as it was a bit easy a boring. I was enjoying the book until the author did not say what happened to all of the other cats! I would rate the book 3/5.

  2. Dr Who( Bug club book) was a really interesting book which was like reading a comic strip except the picture squares were photos and not cartoons. There were two stories to read. It could have had more punctuation and more words.
I quite enjoyed it but prefer a 'proper' book. My rate is 5/10.

I also like that the story ws told within letters, emails and text messages although I think some of the words could be uplevelled!

  6. I have finished the book How to be a detective and I found it quite boring really. The book was just saying what they do but the "make it your self" are quite cool. I would recommend it to any one who wants to be a detective of police man/women. I would rate it 2/5 stars.

  10. Just read Kaspar Prince of Cats by Michael Morpurgo, recommended by Ellie and Amelie. Combined insight into the lives of an opera singer, bell boy and the sinking of Titanic, a great book, not quite up there with War Horse but a good read. Now looking forward to reading the new Pegasus book by Kate O'Hearn, recommended by Elizabeth. More recommendations please.

  11. I have just finished Icefire by Chris d 'Lacey in the Last Dragon Chronicles and its one of the best books I have ever read along with first book in the series. Its all about when clay dragons are brought to life by a fire tear and the whole book is mixed with sadness, love and suspense. I couldn't put it down! I rate this book 9 and a half out of 10 and also recommend it to other readers.
