A picture says a thousand words...

... so if that's the case, all these photos of our adventures in February will be as long as a novel!

A Summary so Far

Spring Term is a short term - but there's just so much to squeeze into it!

Every Monday so far, while some of us are out at swimming lessons, the rest of us take some time to learn a new African playground game. Here are some photos of our attempts at Dropscotch, Mokou and Rwandan Dodgeball!

In English we have been looking at non-chronological reports. We have also been learning a lot of grammar terms, in particular focusing on noun phrases and identifying determiners.

We have also been making our classroom look more part of our topic by creating some silhouette artwork, as well as clay tiles from Benin. More Tingatinga-style artwork to come next week!

In maths we have been working particularly hard on equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. Here are year 6 completing some matching games in pairs.

In science, year 6 have had a chance to look at the dichotomous key, and had a chance to organise dolly mixtures by their various characteristics. We have also looked into microbiology, and as well as designing our own microorganism, we investigated the growth-rate of yeast.

Just a little taste of some of the learning we have crammed into the last few weeks!
