Welcome back Class 5!
As I warned, we have come back into class and come straight into doing some tricky work!
In maths, we have been looking at fractions and percentages of amounts. At the beginning of every lesson, we have been working through tricky reasoning questions to really stretch our brains. Here are some examples of them so you can test yourselves at home!!
In English we have begun looking at journalistic writing. We chopped up the various features of newspaper articles and stuck them on posters for our working wall display. We have also had a chance to look at the importance of the introductory paragraph and the various puns you can find in newspaper headlines.

In theme we have started our 'twisted fairy tale' topic. Miss Vidler decided that our classroom needed a bit of cheering up and gave us the chance to decorate the classroom ourselves. We were all very proud of the results!

We have also looked at the silhouette artwork which is commonly found in old-fashioned fairy tale stories. We used these as inspiration to create stained glass window designs of our very own. Get ready to see a few more appear on our windows in the next week!
