Welcome to
our third week already this half term! It has been a busy time!
I was extremely proud of you all at Fordham
War Memorial on Tuesday and it was lovely to watch you all play a part in
helping David to plant the flowering cherry on Jubilee Green afterwards. The plaque read ‘We
Will Remember Them’ and I am sure you all will - you have learnt and understood
so much.
The Copford
Music Festival was thoroughly enjoyed by all and you sounded fantastic.
This week we
continue with our study of WWI and have a visitor tomorrow afternoon, Marilyn
form Oaks and Acorns who will be telling us about her WWI and WWII local family
experiences. It is Friendship Week, during which we will be focusing on how to look
after and protect ourselves and our friends. A few pupils in our class will be rising to the challenge of the national maths competition 'The Primary Maths Challenge' this week. Keep a cool head, think things through and we know you will do well!
Homework

Due in on Friday as homework will be given
out on Mondays, due in on Fridays.
English – two weeks for this assignment, ready for next a
presentation from 17/11/14
This was your brief
two weeks ago. The presentation will be Thursday after break. Your homework is
to practice this, time it and be thoroughly prepared. Please complete one book
review on the blog that you have read from Bug Club before Friday.
Research exactly
what Boudica’s role was in burning down Roman Colchester. You will need to
find interesting information for a speaking presentation to the class in two
weeks time and have your information neatly presented in
whatever format you wish, (printed or handwritten) ready to exhibit in our
museum. You will need to time your presentation so that it lasts no more than
three minutes and can be less. You can make or find artefacts or pictures to
show us too if you wish.
